Founded in 1670, J. Herbin is one of the oldest names in formal ink production in the world. The company’s history can be traced back to a French sailor named Jacques Herbin, who drew on the techniques and innovations found on his voyages to establish himself as a master wax maker, later expanding into the production of ink and fine stationery.
Herbin Rue de la Verrerie, also known as Bleu Verrerie, is a blue ink inspired by the historic address of the Jacques Herbin house in 1810.
Presented in a 30ml glass bottle that has a square shape with a groove on top that can be used as a pen rest. These bottles are known as “D” bottles, which refers to the old French unit of measure “la Demi Courtine.”
