The history of the Caran d’Ache Fixpencil starts in 1929 when it was invented by an engineer in Geneva. It was launched on the market one year later by Caran d’Ache and became a global success.
The Fixpencil was the world’s first mechanical pencil, entirely metallic and fitted with a clutch mechanism.
