Description
Made in Italy, this set of Bortoletti nibs is ideal for perfecting the art of handwriting. Included are 10 steel nibs that are compatible with all Bortoletti nib holders. The truncated-tip nibs are used for various types of writing including Gothic calligraphy, while the flexible-tip nibs are used most commonly for cursive writing.
The shape of the nibs is inspired by traditional techniques – a vertical slit to allow for an ink reserve and a horizontal one that determines the shape of the tip. When first used, the calligraphy nib needs to be heated with a flame to remove the protective varnish.
